Some accidents are simple fender-benders but of course many are more serious. You may require medical care regardless of how “simple” it seems at first. Here are a few points to remember if you find yourself in either situation:
- If someone requires emergency medical attention, call 911, otherwise call the police.
- Although you may be distressed or upset, do not apologize for anything and do not admit guilt.
- Get a crash report from the police. They are able to do this on the spot.
- Seek immediate medical attention. At the very least, visit a medical doctor, urgent care center, or hospital ER within two weeks of your accident. Going forward, should you seek legal help because of this accident, your case will have serious negative complications if you fail to do so.
